RealMedia files, as shown here, are streamed, so that there is little download delay involved to watch or hear the multimedia files. A real server, included in all our hosting packages with the exception of Brochure 2, is required. Real Media is viewed in a separate pop-up window. You must have a RealMedia player installed on your system to be able to hear or see these files. The RealMedia player is available at no cost from Real Networks.

Real also offers single and multiple bit rates, which we refer to as "SureStream" and is unique to RealNetworks RealServer.

This allows you to broadcast for different target audiences, and RealProducer will send multiple bit rates for all target audiences in a "SureStream" to the RealServer. This will ensure people connecting on RealOne Player will always receive what their connection is set for and nobody misses out. Of course the more streams you add, the more the bit rate will increase on the RealServer.
